Surrender a Pet
Surrendering a pet is never an easy decision, but we are here to help. Please contact us to see if we have any programs and services to keep you and your pet together prior to surrendering. Our goal is to keep families together.
Each year the Humane Society helps thousands of animals in need find loving homes.
Please note that we are only able to receive surrenders by appointment, so we can ensure we have the space and resources.
When our Centres are at capacity, in the best interest of the pet, owners will be encouraged to wait until the Centre has space available before surrendering their pet and will be offered to be put on a waiting list.
We understand that parting ways with an animal can be especially difficult and we're committed to working with you to ensure the best possible solution for you and your pet. Our team will work to find alternatives to allow your pet to remain with you. If circumstances require you to surrender, our team will arrange for an appointment for you to bring your pet into one of our centres.
Steps to Surrendering
If you have questions prior to surrendering, please contact the centre that services your area:

Prior to bringing your pet in, we ask that you complete a surrender form to tell us more about your pet. If you require a paper form or support to complete this form, please contact our centres directly.
