Pet Services
The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth services 13 municipalities across Waterloo Region, Perth County and the Township of Zorra. We provide a large number of programs and services aimed at supporting both homeless and owned pets, with a goal of keeping families together.
We offer 40+ services at the Humane Society to support people and pets across Waterloo Region and Perth County. From adoption and surrender services, animal control and by-law, education and community programs, to veterinary services and community outreach - we remain focused on the human-animal bond and supporting pets and families who need us the most.

Choosing to surrender your pet is an incredibly difficult decision. We’re committed to working with you to ensure the best possible solution for you and your pet.
Lost & Found

Alternatives to Surrendering
Choosing to surrender your pet is an incredibly difficult decision. The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth is working to put supports and programs in place to help people and pets stay together.
Municipal Animal Services
The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth is contracted by a number of cities and municipalities to provide animal by-law, animal control and sheltering services.
Pet Pantry Program
Our Pet Pantry Program exists to support pet owners who are in emergency need of pet food and basic supplies.
Emergency Boarding
Our emergency boarding program offers pet owners short-term housing for their pet(s) when experiencing a personal emergency or crisis.
Behaviour & Training
Our goal is to provide pet owners with support and resources to get ahead of behaviour challenges before they become a problem.
Reporting Animal Cruelty
To report cases of animal cruelty, abandonment or neglect, please call the Province of Ontario's 24/7 Hotline at 1-833-9ANIMAL (1-833-926-4625).

Vet Services
Within the last decade we have opened a companion animal hospital in our Kitchener centre and a satellite hospital in our Stratford centre. While they focus on the health and wellness of the homeless pets we have coming through our doors, they also provide a number of public facing programs. Today we offere a variety of services including spay/neauter, rabies vaccination, microchipping, and veterinary outreach aimed at keeping people and pets together.
