One-on-One Dog Training
Our Humane Society is now offering private, in-centre dog training sessions tailored to meet the specific needs of you and your dog. These one-on-one sessions provide personalized attention from a member of our expert behaviour team to help you address your dog's unique challenges in a supportive and controlled environment.
Our Training Approach
We use positive reinforcement training, a proven, science-based method that rewards desired behaviours to help your dog learn and succeed in a supportive way. This approach strengthens the bond between you and your dog, building trust and fostering long-term behavioural success.
Please Note: We require that dogs are not trained using choke chains, prong collars, e-collars, or shock collars. Instead, we focus on humane, effective tools and techniques that promote your dog’s comfort and well-being.
Pricing
- First Session: $150 (1 to 1.5 hours)
- Ongoing Sessions: $115 per hour
- 25% off the first session for adopted dogs from our shelters
How to Get Started
1. Submit the Questionnaire: Before booking, you’ll need to complete a detailed behaviour questionnaire to help us understand your dog’s needs and sign our waiver form.
2. Review and Scheduling: Once submitted, a member of our behaviour team will review your questionnaire. If your dog’s concerns can be safely addressed in our shelter environment, we’ll contact you via phone or email to schedule your session.
Please note:
Sessions are private and designed to work exclusively with the dog owner(s) and our trainer. Dogs with more severe behaviour concerns may be referred for alternative support outside our in-centre program.
