Barn Buddy Program
Our Barn Buddy Program is designed to match cat lovers who own heated structures, such as a barn or workshop, with a cat that prefers to live in an indoor/outdoor setting.
Please be advised that this program is intended for cats that are already in HSKWSP’s care. We are unable to accept cats that are already in or would do well in a barn setting, into this program.
Willing to share your heated barn or workshop with a feline friend?
The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth’s Barn Buddy Program helps those feline friends that prefer an indoor/outdoor living environment. Adopters are still deemed to be their owner and are responsible for food, water, shelter and ensuring they have access to regular medical care.
Barn Buddy cats are not suited to be your typical indoor pets and, as unsocialized animals, they can range in temperament and may have no desire to be cuddle buddies.
A Barn Buddy has an adoption fee of $25 which includes their spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchip, tattoo and ear tip.

If we don’t have a Barn Buddy available when you inquire, we do hold a waiting list. As soon as we have a suitable candidate, we will notify those waiting for their very own mouser!*
*The term ”mouser” is used loosely. The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth will not be held liable should your mouser be ineffective at his or her job.
